WHEN FLYING PRIVATE BECOMES AFFORDABLE
Empty Leg Offers
Not every private jet flies full on every leg.
When an aircraft needs to reposition without passengers, that flight becomes an empty leg. Instead of flying empty, it can be offered at a reduced price to travelers who can take advantage of the timing.
Empty leg offers are ideal if you’re flexible and want to experience private aviation at a lower cost, but with the same aircraft, crew, and standards as a regular charter.

Frequently asked questions
Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about our empty leg service.
When does an empty leg make sense, and when doesn’t it?
Empty leg flights work best when your schedule is flexible and the routing does not really matter or already matches your plans. They’re ideal for spontaneous trips, one-way journeys, or when price matters more than perfect timing.
They’re not always suitable if you need fixed departure times, return flexibility, or guaranteed availability. In those cases, a regular charter is usually the better option.
What are the trade-offs of flying on an empty leg?
The lower price comes with limitations. Empty legs are tied to an aircraft’s repositioning schedule, which means timing, routing, or even the aircraft type can change.
That’s why empty legs reward flexibility. When plans align, the value is exceptional. When they don’t, we’re transparent from the start and clearly explain your options or suggest suitable alternatives.
What happens if an empty leg changes or is cancelled?
Empty legs depend on another flight’s schedule, so changes can occasionally happen. If timings or details are adjusted, we’ll inform you as early as possible and explain the impact clearly.
If the empty leg is cancelled entirely, any payment made is fully reimbursed. When possible, we’ll also help look for alternative options so you can still travel, even if the original empty leg no longer operates.
Are empty leg flights operated to the same standards as regular charters?
Yes. An empty leg flight uses the same aircraft, crew, and regulatory framework as any standard private charter.
The aircraft is maintained according to the same approved maintenance programs, flown by the same qualified and current crews, and operated under the same aviation authority oversight. There is no difference in safety standards, maintenance requirements, or operational procedures.
The only difference with an empty leg is why the aircraft is flying — not how it is operated. Pricing reflects aircraft repositioning and scheduling efficiency, not a reduction in safety, experience, or service.
In short, an empty leg is not a “special category” of flight. It is a regular private charter flight that happens to be available at a different price due to logistics.
Why are empty leg offers often short-notice and spontaneous?
Empty legs appear when an aircraft needs to reposition for its next confirmed flight. These movements are often confirmed only days, sometimes hours, in advance, once schedules, permits, and operational details are finalised.
It is sometimes possible to identify an empty leg further in advance, but pricing is usually less attractive. In those cases, the operator needs to commit the aircraft earlier and absorb more uncertainty, which reduces the discount. The best value typically appears closer to departure, when the flight is already confirmed and simply needs to be filled.
Is it possible to arrange a return journey with an empty leg flight?
Yes, but it can’t usually be guaranteed.
Empty legs are one-way flights created by an aircraft’s repositioning needs. Occasionally, a suitable return empty leg exists or can be matched with another repositioning flight, but this depends entirely on real-time aircraft movements and schedules.
If a return flight is important, it can sometimes make more sense to book a direct charter instead. In that case, the operator may keep the aircraft at the destination until your departure, avoiding additional ferry flights and removing the uncertainty that comes with empty legs.
We’ll always look at both options and explain the trade-offs clearly and if a return journey without compromises is the better solution, we’ll be happy to arrange that for you
